The Mission Continues Awarded a $3.5 Million Investment From the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation

PRESS RELEASE

The veterans’ nonprofit will fund programs designed to foster veteran and community empowerment.

NEW YORK (PRWEB) JUNE 20, 2019 — The Mission Continues has received a $3.5 million, two-year investment from the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation to support strategic growth within their expanding veterans’ programs. The grant will provide a strong foothold for the veterans’ nonprofit as they invest in a rising movement of veterans creating meaningful impact in under-resourced communities through continued service.

The first-time partnership for the organizations highlights their aligned commitments to leadership development, community building and increased opportunities for veterans. As a long-time supporter of veterans’ services, the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation partners with organizations to scale their capacity to meet the growing needs of veterans and secure sustainable funding to foster self-reliance. The Mission Continues, founded in 2007, empowers veterans to continue their service and empowers communities with veteran talent, skills and preparedness to generate visible impact.

“This generous investment will further fuel our programs and build upon the momentum of empowering veterans in continued service,” said Spencer Kympton, president of The Mission Continues. “We are excited to embark on this new partnership with the A. James & Alice B. Clark Foundation.”

Earmarked for support are two of The Mission Continues’ newest programs, the Service Leadership Corps and the Women Veterans Leadership Program. The investment will allow the organization to build upon the Service Leadership Corps, a six-month leadership development program for veterans launched in 2019. Additionally, support will be used to develop the inaugural Women Veterans Leadership Program scheduled to commence in early 2020. The unique program will offer skills in effective and assertive communication, self-care, personal branding, and advocacy to build a community of women veteran leaders. In total, the multi-year investment will have a positive impact on over 400 veteran participants pursuing community-based leadership and personal development in up to 56 cities nationwide.
